JUDJEMENT DESCRIPTION
Let’s be honest. Nobody likes the word “Judgement” – especially when it might mean being “judged” in a cosmic courtroom by the Universe and it might seem that the Judgement Tarot brings just that.
But, ignore the title for a moment and just look at the image on the Judgement Tarot card. Now think about what the process of judgment really involves.
As the human figures in the Judgement card clearly show, Judgment’s cosmic wake-up call is accompanied by a feeling of tremendous joy. Note how in the Judgement Tarot they’re on both sides of the water, the divide between the conscious and subconscious mind. The Judgement Tarot card is the moment the ugly duckling realizes he is actually a beautiful swan.
Associated with the Hebrew letter Shin, the Judgment Tarot card represents the energy flow between our experiences in the material world and the limits of our intellectual reasoning. Shin allows your consciousness to explore the farthest reaches of understanding.
This process challenges and expands the boundaries of thought, the mountains in the distance on the Judgement card, giving birth to science, philosophy, religion and spiritual teachings. Kabbalists also refer to the Judgement Tarot as the “perpetual intelligence.”

UPRIGHT JUDJEMENT
When the Judgement Tarot presents itself upright in a Tarot reading it’s to acknowledge that you suddenly understand what the sense of restlessness and anxiety you’ve been feeling was all about – the nagging sense that you’d been stuck in a rut.
Judgment can be a card about jumping to conclusions, decisions, and of course, judgments, which are too hastily made. If you are prone to such things, this is a clear signal to slow down and give things more thought and to give people "more chances." This can also be a time of fundamental spiritual awakening.

General: In general, if you are the one tending to jump to conclusions, you can put a stop to it. If others are making these kinds of decisions about you or about someone you care for, there is really very little you can do, apart from realizing that it's their problem, not yours.
Work: Your efforts are being watched so this is an important time to put in extra effort and for paying attention to detail. The news ultimately is likely to be good. If you've been trying hard and doing your best, your efforts are very likely to pay off.
If you've been slacking off, now is the time to get with the program, before any permanent damage is done to your career.
Love: If you're already in a relationship, this can be a make-or-break period. This is a time to get very, very clear about what you want out of life and out of your relationships and then take steps to make it come about.
If you are seeking love, a new relationship may come about in the near future, but you may need to take steps to make sure that you aren't leaping to conclusions about your new love and/or vice versa. Slow and steady wins the race.
Finances: Money and contracts will be headed your way now. Things should be on a very important, positive upswing. Don't speed or violate the law now or you could end up paying more for any of your needs. Caution will pay off.
Health: This is an important time to let go of the past and any wrong that you perceive were done to you, particularly if you are dealing with chronic medical issues. Letting go of your need to be right will go a long way towards helping you to feel better.

REVERSED JUDJEMENT
When the Judgement card is reversed in a reading you are reminded not to be so stingy with your knowledge.
It’s meant to be shared and others can give you important insights that can help you better understand what you have learned. When reversed, the Judgment card not only suggests that your insights and ideas are ready to be shared, but that the time is to act now. In reversal, Judgment still is very often a card about jumping to conclusions, as well as decisions and judgments which are too hastily made. If you are prone to such things, this is a clear signal to slow down and give things more thought. This can be a real-time spiritual awakening. General: In general, Judgment reversal tells you to look carefully at how you are making decisions and judgments. If you are the one tending to “jump to conclusions,” you should change this. If others are making these kinds of decisions about you or about someone you care for, there is really very little you can do. Work: When you draw reversed Judgment, know that things may be changing at work. If you want to keep this job as long as possible, behave as though you know every moment you’re there, you are being watched. This is an important time to put in the extra effort. The news ultimately is likely to be good. Love: With reversed Judgment, this can still be a make or- break period for an existing relationship. You and the people around you may be in the process of changing. Don’t cling tightly to the status quo. If you are looking for love or you draw Judgment reversed regarding someone you have your eye on, a new relationship may well come about in the near future. |
Finances: Take one step at a time. If a decision has been made already and it’s not in the direction you would like, find another way. There is always more than one way to accomplish a goal, always more than one person to help you.
This is an important time to be flexible if things aren't working the way you had hoped that they would.

Health: When you pull this card in reverse in connection with health issues, it’s a signal that accepting that it is okay for you to make mistakes or to even be wrong on occasion will go a long way towards helping you to feel better.
Judgment reversed is a reminder not to fight change and to accept that the past is over and that letting go of anger over the past will help you to feel better. Think positively.
