CHARIOT DESCRIPTION
The Charioteer’s spaulders or shoulder armour, are the waxing and waning Moon. They represent both, the Element of Water (emotion) and polar opposites in harmony. Moreover, you have sorted out all intellectual, ethical and philosophical problems required to cross the great divide between the worlds of creation and pure spirit.
That’s why the chariot is in the shape of a double cube. The upper portion of the Chariot Tarot is a starry canopy, symbolizing the divine world. The lower cube of the Chariot Tarot card represents the material world.
The winged Sun is divinity and the symbol below it, the union of male and female energies. The Chariot Tarot is not only an inner victory, it’s an external victory, as well.
The river behind the chariot is a reference to the divide between the worlds of creation and pure spirit.
The eight-pointed star in the charioteer’s crown in the Chariot Tarot card is solar fire. The crown is ringed by a laurel wreath, a sign of victory. The square on his breastplate represents earth. Like the Hermit, he carries a staff, a symbol of authority and spiritual progress.

It combines the promise and youthful energy of The Sun card with the intense focus of The Temperance card and the keen observation and deep understanding of The Justice Tarot card symbolism and messages.

General: In general this card points to determination and ambition. It's about getting things done and testing and proving that you've got what it takes. This is a sign that you should move forward with whatever you have in mind (and in your heart) and give it your best shot.
Work: In terms of work, it's important not to let small issues get blown out of proportion in your mind. There may be someone who is involved with your work who is working against you. Don't let this get you down, either.
Just do the best you can and don't waste time worrying about the way others perceive your efforts. If you're right everyone will see this in the end anyway. You should be feeling very "charged up and ready to go."
Love: In terms of love, it's possible that you are tempted to go too far too fast and/or that someone is pressurizing you that way. Either way, communicate as best you can about your boundaries and preferences and be honest with yourself about the possibilities.
If you aren't interested in a relationship with someone who clearly wants one with you then the kindest thing you can possibly do is to let them know that you just aren't interested. The short-term angst this may cause will benefit everyone in the long run.
Finances: Finances, in general, maybe going very well. You could be looking into purchasing something to do with transportation - a car, plane tickets to somewhere you have always wanted to go - anything of that nature. Prioritize paying down your debts. You can do it now if you are disciplined.
Health: On the whole, your vitality is very strong now and you should have quite a lot of "get up and go." This is an excellent time to begin or to increase a fitness plan. You may be able to make more progress than you ever thought possible.

REVERSED CHARIOT
Just when everything should be coming together, powerful forces suddenly seem to pull you in opposite directions. There are a thousand distractions and it feels like you are putting out fires everywhere.
Others are looking to you to solve their problems or they are placing demands on your attention over trivial things. The Chariot Tarot card inverted is a signal that it could be time to let someone else “take the reigns”, at least for a little while. In reversal, the Chariot is still a card about movement. This movement can be literal from one physical place to another or metaphysical - a change in where you or someone close to you needs a change in their heart and/or mind. General: The reversed Chariot can indicate that you need to take a hard look at where you are going and why. Don’t allow yourself to engage in movement just for the sake of movement. Purpose and direction are important at times. Work: The reversed Chariot may well point to a tendency to push “too far, too fast.” Yes, your ideas are good and yes, you are right to be enthusiastic about them. However, you cannot expect others to be at the same speed as you are. Be circumspect and try to frame your messages in a variety of ways so that others can “hear you.” Love: When the reversed Chariot appears, you may have come to the conclusion that you have met someone very special and that you need to push hard to get into this relationship or vice versa, you are feeling as though you probably need to get out of one. In reversal, there’s a signal here that you should temper either impulse, especially that of pursuing a new relationship too enthusiastically. There’s a reason why they say “good things come to those who wait.” |
Finances: When the love card appears in reverse, it can indicate that you are paying far too much attention to your love life and far too little attention to other important things, including friendships, finances and the rest of your personal life.
If you need help, ask for it. Letting finances get out of control is a mistake no matter what else is going on in your life. Don’t lose sight of the things that you must attend to, no matter how much you feel that you are “walking on air.”

Health: If you are struggling with your health now, the appearance of the lover's card in reverse can indicate that your own care and concern for yourself and your body is critical now. Try to find it in yourself to love your body, even if it hurts you, even if it has “let you down.”
It still has served you in many positive ways and likely still does. If you need help and support for this process reach out. Your self-esteem and self-care are paramount now.
